Being served by the man himself in his pub near Colchester was a weird but cracking experience. Myself and a few of the boys had driven over after an away game (maybe Ipswich)
Chatted to all of us for ages, grateful we'd make the trip to see him. Probably my first West ham 'hero' What he has done coaching wise with us doesn't diminish that whatsoever *puts out cones*

So Julian admits in the interview that a number of players under Billic where brought in by the board and he had nothing to do with. So just further proof that our board lies through their teeth to us.

As a player, a West Ham legend without a doubt. No one can question the effort he put in. Julian always comes across as an honest and decent bloke.
He didn’t have to, but he took the job on under Slav. With that goes the grief you may get if the team don’t get results.

Easily the best left back for me.... mad when you think he was playing with one knee the majority of his time with us... for large parts he was our best defender and at times our best attacker !! Met him a few times.... once was after he scored the winning goal v Villa in the LC... I backed him a couple of quid at about 15's... bumped into him walking down Southend the day after.... said could I buy him a pint as he won me some money.... I then noticed the buggy he was pushing with his two twin baby girls in it... another time then !

Surprised Dicksie did this interview, this geezer Dave Walker constantly used to whine on about how Slav should get the sack and generally defending Sullivan and Brady (or Karen as he calls her).
Makes me cringe along with that pretender Ex.
